Chlorophyll-a deviation from the global average
The share of satellite imagery pixels measuring chlorophyll-a within a country's Exclusive Economic Zone that are above the 90th percentile of the global baseline (2000-2004). High levels can indicate excess nutrients in the water, from sewage, agricultural runoff, or natural sources such as rivers. These excess nutrients can cause harmful algal blooms.
